How To Play

Life is awkward. This game rewards that.

The aim is simple: make the other players laugh, cringe, or question why they're friends with you.

The player with the most points at the end wins. Probably.

Setup

Each player receives

6

Reaction Cards

Your hand for the round.

1

Story Card

Your chance to risk your dignity.

Place the Experience Cards in a pile in the middle of the table.

Before the game begins, everyone tells an embarrassing story.

The most embarrassing story goes first. Congratulations.

1

Draw

Draw an Experience Card and read it aloud.

Brace yourself.

2

React

Everyone chooses a Reaction Card from their hand and reads it aloud.

Or, if real life has already traumatised you enough, play your Story Card and tell a real story that fits the Experience.

3

Vote

Once everyone has shared, vote for whoever made you laugh or cringe the hardest.

To vote, hand your Reaction Card to that player. Any cards awarded to you become your points to keep.

Rules

  • No voting for yourself.
  • There can be multiple winners.
  • Never hand over Story Cards.
4

Special Scoring

If you told a story and received enough votes, you keep your Story Card and the Experience Card.

Story Card

Win enough votes with a real story and keep your Story Card plus the Experience Card.

Full House

If every other player votes for you, keep the Experience Card as an additional point.

5

Refill & Rotate

Refill your hand back to 6 Reaction Cards.

Pass the draw to the player on your left.

Repeat until someone needs therapy.

Scoring

Count your points

Experience Experience Cards 1 pt
Reaction Reaction Cards 1 pt
Story Story Cards 10 pts

The player with the most points wins.

Life is awkward. Let's make it competitive.

Optional Final Round

True or Bullshit?

Once the game ends, each player gets one final opportunity to tell an embarrassing story.

One at a time, players tell a story from their life. The group must decide whether it is true or complete bullshit.

True

Hand the storyteller a Reaction Card.

Complete Bullshit

Keep your card.

Final reveal

Once everyone has voted, the storyteller reveals the truth. Anyone who guessed wrong gives the storyteller 1 point card from their score pile.
