Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions. We have answers. Some of them are even helpful.

The Basics

Absolutely not.

18+

If you're asking, you're probably too responsible for this game.

Officially: 3–10 players.

With 3 or more players, use the normal voting rules. Everyone plays a Reaction Card or tells a story, then the group votes for the funniest, most awkward or most painfully relatable response.

With 2 players, use 2-Player Mode instead. You both play a Reaction Card or tell a real story, then decide together who had the best response. If you cannot agree, the person who read the Experience Card chooses.

The more players involved, the more likely someone reveals something they should have taken to the grave.

More than 10 people can play unofficially, but the game gets chaotic and the Reaction deck may run low. For larger groups, either play fewer rounds, skip Story Cards, or let players create their own responses.

At that point you are no longer playing a card game. You are facilitating a support group that has completely lost control.

Anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours.

Depends how much emotional damage you're willing to inflict.

The Rules

No.

Nice try.

After all Reaction Cards and Story Cards are revealed, everyone chooses who they are voting for.

When everyone is ready, point at your chosen player at the same time. Then hand your Reaction Card to that player as your vote.

This prevents bandwagon voting, keeps rounds faster, and makes the reveal much more dramatic than it has any right to be.

Yes.

There can be multiple winners in a round.

We're not here to tell you who to love.

Either:

  • Accept it like adults.
  • Maintain uncomfortable eye contact until somebody gives in.

Both methods are officially recognised.

Yes. After each round, draw back up to 6 Reaction Cards.

Then, before the next round begins, each player may discard and replace any number of Reaction Cards from their hand.

Because nobody deserves to spend six rounds holding cards that are about as useful as unsolicited life advice.

The Cards

Officially: yes.

Unofficially: that's between you and your conscience.

If people discover your story was fake, you lose the Story Card and everyone is allowed to judge you.

Most of the time, the Experience Card goes to the bottom of the Experience deck after the round ends.

The only exceptions are:

  • You successfully win with a Story Card.
  • You achieve a Full House.

In either case, you keep the Experience Card as a point.

A Full House happens when every other player votes for you.

You keep the Experience Card as an additional point.

Enjoy the brief feeling of superiority.

Other

Technically yes.

Professionally, we advise caution.

Not yet.

We're working on it.

You'll still have the memories.
