Reaction Cards
Your hand for the round.
Life Experiences (Unfortunately)
Life is awkward. This game rewards that.
The aim is simple: make the other players laugh, cringe, or question why they're friends with you.
The player with the most points at the end wins. Probably.
Your hand for the round.
Your chance to risk your dignity.
Place the Experience Cards in a pile in the middle of the table.
Before the game begins, everyone tells an embarrassing story.
The most embarrassing story goes first. Congratulations.
Draw an Experience Card and read it aloud.
Brace yourself.
Everyone chooses a Reaction Card from their hand and reads it aloud.
Or, if real life has already traumatised you enough, play your Story Card and tell a real story that fits the Experience.
Once everyone has shared, everyone decides who they're voting for at the same time.
When everyone is ready, point at your chosen player and reveal your vote simultaneously. Then hand your Reaction Card to that player. Any cards awarded to you become your points to keep.
No bandwagons. No tactical betrayal after seeing where the room is going. Just pure social consequences.
If you told a story and received enough votes, you keep your Story Card and the Experience Card.
Win enough votes with a real story and keep your Story Card plus the Experience Card.
If every other player votes for you, keep the Experience Card as an additional point.
Refill your hand back to 6 Reaction Cards.
After refilling, each player may discard and replace any number of Reaction Cards before the next round begins.
Pass the draw to the player on your left.
Refresh the dead cards. Keep the chaos moving. Repeat until someone needs therapy.
| Experience Experience Cards | 1 pt |
| Reaction Reaction Cards | 1 pt |
| Story Story Cards | 10 pts |
The player with the most points wins.
Life is awkward. Let's make it competitive.
Once the game ends, each player gets one final opportunity to tell an embarrassing story.
One at a time, players tell a story from their life. The group must decide whether it is true or complete bullshit.
Hand the storyteller a Reaction Card.
Keep your card.
Once everyone has voted, the storyteller reveals the truth. Anyone who guessed wrong gives the storyteller 1 point card from their score pile.
Life Experiences works best with a group, but two players can still play using a simpler scoring rule.
Draw an Experience Card and read it aloud. Both players choose a Reaction Card, or use a Story Card to tell a real story that fits.
After both players have shared, decide together who had the funniest, most awkward or most painfully relatable response.
If you cannot agree, the player who read the Experience Card chooses the winner.
The winner keeps their Reaction Card and the Experience Card.
If a real story wins, the winner keeps their Story Card and the Experience Card.
The normal voting rule still applies for 3 or more players. This 2-player mode is only for games where there are not enough people to vote properly.
Romantic? Maybe. Revealing? Unfortunately.
